Online and Face to Face Assessments
Full Learning Assessment
This type of assessment is for children and young people aged 7 and upwards. It includes cognitive, diagnostic and attainment tests to explore areas of strength and difficulty. Literacy skills are always explored in detail. If there are concerns about maths, one or two maths tasks can be included with a focus on providing strategies to support progress in maths. Michelle can also carry out screening for ASD, ADHD and dyspraxia as part of a learning assessment to see if there are signs which warrant onward referral. Michelle's report will contain recommendations about any support, exam access arrangements or adjustments needed.
Assessments for older students in sixth form, Further Education and university are also available and reports follow the DSA format so that support can be accessed at university if the student meets criteria. Personalised strategies are given to support academic study. Assessments for adults in the workplace are also available.
Key Features
The assessment takes around 2 to 3 hours, with breaks when needed.
Feedback is given on the day with a detailed report following within 10 working days of assessment
Students do not need to prepare for an assessment in any way
Online Assessment
Michelle is able to offer online (remote) assessments. The assessment takes place via a video conferencing call such as Zoom or Skype. Michelle will send you a link to the Zoom call and the full assessment will be carried out online, meaning you do not have to travel and can still have an assessment when face to face meetings are not possible . The assessment process is identical to that of a face-to-face assessment but assessment tests that are better suited to online assessment are used.
Online assessments are available for children and adults but there may be some individuals for whom a face to face assessment is more suitable. This can be discussed before booking an assessment.
Key Features
The assessment takes around 2 to 3 hours, but with remote assessments there is more flexibility with regard to start times/breaks
Feedback can be given immediately after the assessment or a discussion can be set up at a more convenient time. A detailed report follows within 10 working days of assessment
